New music section covering Dave's other projects
February 08, 2021
I've opened up a brand-new section called "Other" under "Music" which will be used to showcase Dave's musical projects outside of Depeche Mode, Soulsavers, and his own solo works. There are many, as he has collaborated with many different artists over the years. The first song review is up in that section, as well, which is a review of "A Song for Europe." Check it out!
New DGD-Exclusive Mini-Series

A new DGD-exclusive mini-series entitled "Creators and Shapers: The Women in Dave's Life" is now available to read here in the "Exclusives" section! The first installment of this mini-series is all about Dave's first wife, Joanne Fox.

Sounds of the Universe song reviews complete

I have completed the reviews of Dave's song contributions to Sounds of the Universe. You can get to them here. Before I tackle the next behemoth body of work known as Soulsavers, I'm going to take a few small detours to cover other subjects first, such as Dave's one-off song contributions to other projects, plus I've got content I need to add to the "Memorabilia" and "Bio" sections.. So, expect some small updates in the coming days!

Hourglass Album Review Complete

I have completed my full album review of Hourglass which includes a detailed review of each song. You can read it here. And who knows, some things might surprise you! Now that my coverage of this album is done, it's time to go back and review some more of Dave's songs for Depeche Mode! In addition, I am also busy working on a little surprise that I hope to release on this site in time for Valentine's Day! Stay tuned...
New DGD Exclusives Section and New Article

A new section called "DGD Exclusives" has opened under "Articles!" This section features articles that you will only find on this site. To introduce the section, a new article entitled, "Dave Gahan, The Frontman: What Makes Him So Great?" has been added to it. What makes a frontman not just "good," but "great?" This article explores the criteria and how Dave measures up to all of them.
New Hourglass Sub-Section Opened

A new "Hourglass" sub-section under "Music" has been added and can be accessed directly here. This section contains a detailed look at Dave's 2007 album, Hourglass and includes images and song reviews. So far, scans of the CD booklet and a review of "Saw Something" have been uploaded, and much more content is coming soon!
New Depeche Mode Sub-Section Added

A new "Depeche Mode" sub-section under "Music" has been added and can be accessed directly here. This section will showcase all of Dave's song contributions to Depeche Mode. So far, I have added detailed song pages for all three of Dave's songs on Playing the Angel. I would like to cover his music in mostly chronological order, so from here, I plan to work on content for Hourglass next, and then I will come back to add content for Sounds of the Universe.
